What a treat! Another fabulous guest post from Mad!

I found this recipe in the book Vintage Cocktails (a pretty fantastic Christmas present), and though it does require a bit more elbow grease than your standard drink, it is well worth the effort. It is delicious, and will make you feel fancy and important. The Wikipedia article has this to say of the Clover Club:

“… a drink that pre-dates Prohibition, and is named for the Philadelphia men’s club of the same name. It has a long history dating back to at least 1911, and was enjoyed by the captains of industry who were members of the famous club. In its heyday, the drink was described as being… a ‘distinguished patron of the oak-paneled lounge.'”

Think about it – that could be you sitting in that oak-paneled lounge, rubbing elbows with the captains of industry! This drink is not too tangy, not too sweet, and not too boozy. It’s just right.

Airmail cocktail

I haven’t posted a cocktail recipe in a while, so of course I decide to right before I’m going on a two-week cleanse (self-prescribed, post-holiday).

This tasty drink I first ordered at Beretta, a pizza joint more famed for its cocktails that I am lucky to have four blocks from my house.

Watch out though – these go down nice and easy, and should be enjoyed with moderation. (A good goal, at least).
